Iran advance to World Beach Handball Championship

Iran defeated Vietnam in the sixth edition of the Asian Beach Handball Championship third-place match on Monday.

The Persian confirmed their spot at the 2018 IHF World Beach Handball Championship.

Team Melli beat Vietnam 2-1 (15-10, 16-20, 8-6) in Pattaya, Thailand.

Qatar also beat Oman 2-0 in the final match and won the title for the fourth time in a row.

Iran defeated Afghanistan (2-0), the UAE (2-0), Thailand (2-0) and lost to Vietnam (2-1) and Oman (2-1) in the competition.

The 2018 IHF World Beach Handball Championship will be held in Sochi, Russia.

The World Beach Handball Championship is a biannual beach handball competition for women and men national teams.

It was first organized by the International Handball Federation in 2004.
